Start with the Business Profile
For roofing searches with local intent, the map pack usually appears above the organic results. Set the primary category to the one that matches your main work, add secondary categories for other services, and list every service with a short description. Define the towns you cover as service areas, and make sure the business name, phone number and website match your site exactly.
Build one page per service and per town
A single “Services” page can't rank for roof repairs, flat roofs, chimney work and gutters at the same time. Give each service its own page with real photos, prices or price ranges where you can, and a clear call to action. Then add town pages for the areas that matter most, with genuinely local content: jobs completed there, typical house types, response times.
Make reviews a routine
Ask every happy customer for a review, ideally the same day the job is finished. Reply to every review, good or bad, in a calm and specific way. The number, frequency and wording of reviews all feed local rankings, and they decide who gets the call among the top three.
Fix the technical basics
Roofing sites are often slow because of large photo galleries. Compress images, use modern formats, and check Core Web Vitals in Search Console. Add LocalBusiness or RoofingContractor schema, an XML sitemap and a clean robots.txt.
Track calls, not just traffic
Set up call tracking and form tracking in Google Analytics and Google Ads. Without it you can't tell whether a ranking improvement brought jobs, and you can't judge which pages to improve next.
